Courage

Our school value of courage is a broad value that reveals itself in a wide variety of behaviours by our students and school community. Courage can be demonstrated in a multitude of ways and in various contexts.

Courage to try something new, even if it is hard, out of our comfort zone or if things are uncertain. Courage to believe in ourselves and the people around us. Courage to have an opinion and to stand up for what we believe is right, even if it is not the popular option. Courage to make mistakes, to learn from our choices and to acknowledge what we could do differently next time. Courage to persevere if we don’t learn something straight away or if we need to try a different approach. Courage to be ourselves and to recognise that our differences are what make us unique and special.

At Willowbank Primary School we celebrate a culture where students are encouraged to be courageous individuals in all aspects of their daily life.
